Flamsbana
Sunday, August 19
Early Sunday morning, we hopped on a train to Myrdal.
From Myrdal, we caught the Flamsbana to Flam, from Flam we took a boat through the world's largest fjord to Bergen. Or we could have stayed on that original train a little while longer and gotten to Bergen.
On the train to Myrdal
It was a nice ride.
Getting closer to Myrdal.
On the actual Flamsbana.
Adorable little houses.
Look at me!! I'm a tourist!!
Here we go....
Then we stopped and hopped off the train at this waterfall.
It was a nice waterfall.
Postcard anyone?
On the train they told us this legend about a woman who seduces you with her song...
It was pretty hilarious.
back on the bana.
We're starting to head down towards Flam.
A great ad for my camera.
It's just so Norway!
The trains were probably luxurious a long time ago.
People live in these parts.
Rivers
This is a real town...
Then we got to Flam!!
We thought this was our ship... it wasn't.
Masses of tourists.
Tourist traps.
Eventually our boat got there and we hopped on.
Damn!
Fjords are fricking great.
And off we go...
While beautiful, this looks slightly dirty to me.
I couldn't get enough of the Fjord... it was nothing like the Fjord in Quebec last summer.
Fjords do miracles for hair.
see?
WOW!
Does this look like a butt to anyone else?
Shortly thereafter, we went inside.
In the ferry...
This woman's daughter mistook me for her mother. Not all Jews look alike!! damnit.
A hotel made entirely of wood.
Then around 8:oo pm, we made it to rainy BERGEN!
This scene is kind of famous.
